The 2010 International Dance Music Awards

The 2010 Miami Winter Music Conference concluded this weekend with the dance music worlds crowning achievment; The IDMA's (International Dance Music Awards) This years winners came from all over the musical spectrum. Here's a video list of the this years winners. The only qualm I had about this years winners was the overwhelming awards that went to David Guetta. It is my opinion that this track, while being rediculously catchy, is quite mediocre. Do you think that he will have a lasting impact in our dance scene or just the track? HMM...anyways here are some videos of the winners this year.

This years best underground dance track came to us from New Jersey native Dennis Ferrer. It is obvious that this guy has a taste for classy and traditional house that is lost on most of today's house djs. Congratulations on the well earned win this year, cant wait for more.

The award for this years best HiNRG/Euro track went to pop-trance sensation Dash Berlin with his track Waiting feat. Emma Hewitt on vocals. The track is extremely poppy but very well produced. Congratulations to Dash Berlin for the win.

The winner of the best House/Garage track came to us this year from Axwell, Ingrosso, and Angello(aka Swedish House Mafia)featuring house legend Laidback Luke.

This year has truly been an epic year for Joel Zimmerman, better known to you and me as genious producer/dj Deadmau5. With the release of 2 albums and a tour schedule that would make any normal person faint, Deadmau5 has won the best Electro track award with his big room epic Ghosts and Stuff.

The award for best Trance Track this year came to us from the #2 dj in the world, Tiesto featuring Australia's very own Sneaky Sound System.

This years award for best break through dj goes to Australian born TyDi. I haven't had too much time to check this guy out. Based on tracks like Mind Games and Under The Stars TyDi could have a huge future in the American Dance Scene. Loving his vocal synths and trance rhythyms.

The latest from BASSNECTAR

Stumbled across this gem while browsing BASSNECTAR'S website www.bassnectar.net I generally hate pop remixes but for one reason or another this one grabbed my ear and I feel that the vocals really compliment this track. Happy Listening Friends.

Damn Good Trance

I'd like to thank my good friend Lokey of Peace Love Lightshows for bringing this one to my attention. The break down almost goes full-on electro. Gerry Cueto couldn't have done a better remix than this. Thanks Loke

French Electronica

Recently looked into Kavinsky after I had heard that Guy Manuel of french house pioneers DAFT PUNK had produced a couple of their tracks. I'm loving the 80's sounds coming out of this group.
